‘I was born to my parents who were very loving, caring, supportive. Freedom of expression and the art field came to me as a boon from my artist father “Sachin Nath”, who was my first Guru and mentor. My teachers from my school and college were my guide.

Gratitude to all for being there for me”. “The word Gratitude, is the very word to be associated with this life.”

Sumana’s drawings as well as paintings, depict the experiences of her own being, represent the inner energies and positivity. Daily practise of yoga and meditation, listening to Shrimad Bhagvad Gita, and daily activities has succumbed in her art works. Life is an existence of our Karmas. Work is worship.

Her simplicity and consistence at work are the two important factors in making of her art works different. Line has a main play in the paintings. Shade and light, textures, drawings, shape, form, line and dots being the fundamentals of art, are used to create the master pieces. Every character in the painting is displaying a close connect with the observer, sharing their stories with them. Expressive eyes and effective line rendering. Close small groups or big groups – sharing, discussing, resting, waiting, sleeping, relaxing, looking, working, loving and friends are the simple subjects which are depicted in her art works. Her use of varies mediums oil, acrylic, water colours. Dry pastels, pen, ink and pencils are the mediums used while creating her art works.

She works with full dedication and gratitude, visualizing herself in all the living creatures. Simple relationship between friends, family, small room gathering, bonding and self are the topic which she depicts. Figures are simple dressed with no ornaments and jewellery, in natural form and appearance.

In black and white series, figures are slick, wearing striped designer dress or a thin bordered saree. Graceful, sensuous, elegant and softness seen in the rendering of the textures all over every painting. Bringing unique style to the work. Sometimes beetle shaped leaves (auspiciously used in rituals) are also used in the works to give the aesthetic beauty to the overall composition.
She also likes working on different mediums like wood, metal, clay, paper mesh and scrape materials.

Please visit and experience the variations of art and the cycle of human existence in relation to mother nature.
